Round 1 was hugely popular and the window of time for applications to be submitted closed very quickly (less than 2 hours!). Round 2 took longer, but still many people missed out
Round 3, for South East Queensland (SEQ) AND regional Queensland, opened at 9am, Wed 4th May 2022, BUT their whole computer system crashed.
Round 4 will be run differently.
Stage 1: Registration of Interest (ROI)
Valid ROIs will be assessed through a ballot system with a number of applications identified to move to

Stage 1 opens at 9 am on Thursday, 24 November 2022 and closes at 11.59 pm, Monday 5 December 2022.
Stage 2 opens 12 December 2022 and closes 23 January 2023 ==> (selected ROI applicants only)

Step 1 – Check Your Eligibility For The Grant
Your business must meet the application requirements in order to be able to apply for this grant.

You need to be able to answer “Yes” to all of these questions to be eligible for this particular grant.
These questions are the Eligibility criteria questions directly from the government webpage.
To be eligible for this grant, your business must:
- not have been approved for funding under Round 1, 2 or 3 of the Business Basics grants program
- have fewer than 20 employees (by head count) at the time of applying for the grant
- have an active Australian Business Number (ABN) and be registered for GST
- have headquarters in Queensland.
- have an expected turnover of $300,000 or less in the last financial year (2021–22)
- not have owners/directors that are insolvent or undischarged bankrupt.
If you answered NO to any questions above, unfortunately, you won’t be eligible for this grant.

Step 2 – Submit ROI
Submit your ROI between 24 November 2022 and 5 December 2022.
You will need a SmartyGrants account to do this, and it’s worth registering now (or checking you have an account)
If you are successful you will be notified.
Please Note: “Not all registrations will be invited to submit a full application. You will not be able to appeal if your registration is not selected to move to Stage 2: Full application.”
