A selection of websites built recently by Boldacious
Startup Tablelands is "Enabling Innovation & Entrepreneurship in rural & remote communities." It is a volunteer organisation that needed a modern website that was easy and efficient for the drivers to update. It needed to be integrated with Mailchimp and Eventbrite. The site uses https;// which makes it safer and gives a small advantage in google results. It has various automations including: twitter follows automatically added to a google sheet new members automatically added to a google sheet automations within mailchimp. Behind the scenes changes in the group's google calendar events are sent as a slack reminder.
Cate needed a beautiful looking website to showcase her artistic and graphic design skills. She had chosen a commercial theme, which Boldacious then customised. We optimised all images then connected her to a CDN to speed up display even further. The website is also linked to her facebook page. Cate (disclosure: my life partner) can easily update the site, whenever she wants. The site beautifully displays her portfolio on scroll down on the front page. The portfolio images on the front page can be sorted.
Sandfly and Mosquito Repellents is an e-commerce site selling natural insect repellents - the main one being Mosiguard. The site which uses shopping cart wp-easycart and payment gateway stripe. We've set up zapier to automate tweets from twitter. The tweets are posted automatically in the warnings page on the site and on the facebook site. Orders are automatically added to Evernote, and to a google spreadsheet.
Local (Cairns) business Kuranda Custom Steel Fabrication and Welding is owned by Scott Grindle. Scott needed a clean and strong-looking website for his custom steel fabrication business. His company works in three major areas - MINING EQUIPMENT, REMOTE and STRUCTURAL. They needed to have defined the 3 areas they work in with case-studies in each area (although there is some cross-over)
The Cardwell District Historical Society contacted me for a complete re-design of their website. I had previously built an in-house app to celebrate their WW1 Roll Of Honour (web version here) They are a volunteer organisation, so we had to build a site that would be easily update-able, not add to their workload too much, be able to be updated remotely and by various people. We also automated as much as possible eg all web contacts are automatically updated to a google spreadsheet that is accessible by selected members. We set them up with a "google for work" account; an automatic backup system and an automatic update notification system. Whilst building the site I communicated with the 2 main web people from Cardwell District Historical Society via slack which is an excellent email alternative - much easier to search than emails. Cardwell District Historical Society is now setup to work and communicate efficiently - with the team consisting of local and remote members and volunteers.
China Books is a full e-commerce utilising their in-house custom Inventory and Customer Relationship management system and this system (Bookmine) updates the website. So the website has been hand-crafted with Coldfusion. Chinabooks staff can edit almost everything in the website via a custom editor. The site is responsive designed using bootstrap framework.
Michelle wanted an easily customisable website. She uses her Craniosacral facebook page to keep up-to-date with current news, so has an automatic Zapier Zap that populates the "Latest News" section of her website with every FB post she adds - makes it easy for her to keep website updated using a platform she is very comfortable with. She can edit any part of her website from her admin area, but uses facebook to save herself a little time.
